Expedition Community Advisory Board Update
Jul 13, 2026
The Expedition team would like to share that the initial meeting of the Community Advisory Board (CAB) was held on July 7, 2026. The purpose of the CAB is to ensure productive two-way dialogue about the Expedition project, with opportunities for CAB members to offer feedback and input.
Tenaska contracted ERM to help establish the CAB. ERM provides environmental, health, safety, risk, social consulting services and sustainability related services. The ERM team assigned to Expedition has experience with community engagement and environmental justice considerations in Virginia.
More than 50 individuals – representing a range of perspectives regarding Tenaska and Expedition – were considered for CAB membership. ERM developed the candidate pool based on its outreach and assessment, community recommendations and Tenaska recommendations. The target size of the CAB is approximately 10 to 12 members so that meetings can be productive and each member has a meaningful opportunity to participate.
The current list of CAB members includes: Capt. Mark Black, Gary Clore, Brian Faulknier, Stacie Fraser, Rudy Garcia, Gene Goin, Mario Kuhar, Donna Schroeder and Cheryl Turpin. We very much appreciate their time and contributions.
CAB meetings will be held quarterly through development, construction and the first year of operation. Meetings are not open to the public, but meeting materials will be posted on the Community page of the Expedition website.
